DEADLINE DECEMBER 1st, 2024 - MIDNIGHT AST
Welcome to the 5th Annual 1000 Mile Challenge! Thank you for your interest in participating in this event, and helping send kids to camp through the passion of snowmobiling. This year, the Challenge will be held Feb 24th to March 1st, Monday to Saturday.
In previous years, the 1000 Mile Challenge was a 24 hour event. Riders would attempt to travel 1000 trail miles within a consecutive 24 hour period by snowmobile. This year, we have dropped the 24 hours from The Challenge and made The Challenge a week-long event.
We are accepting teams of at least two riders per team to ride 1000 Miles. The time period that a rider wishes to ride is their choice. The event will start on Feb 24th and end on March 1st. Some teams may wish to take three days to complete, some may choose the entire week. There is no limit to team size.
The recommended 1000 Mile course will be determined by the organizers of the challenge in conjunction with the riders and sponsors, and released to the public closer to the event as it is weather/groomer dependent.
Rider requests from Newfoundland to Alaska and all through the US have asked to join the 1000 Mile Challenge in previous years. This year, while we have decided not to hold auditions nor vote on the riders, we may use the registration form below to promote, advise or guide riders that we feel will be successful both on the trail and in contributing to the fundraising campaign.
The main goal of the 1000 Mile Challenge is to raise funds which will be used to send children to the camp of their choice in summer 2024. All other objectives are secondary. This event is not a race. It is a personal endurance challenge which puts a man/woman to the physical and mental test - their machine, their endurance, their navigational and problem solving skills, and that of their team. Safety is of utmost concern.
We create content by showcasing riders. (Creating brand identity, rider profiles, etc.) We provide a platform for sponsors to advertise their brands and use the money to send children to camp.
Riders are required to bring a minimum sponsorship of $2500 CAD with them. This could be via a partnering dealership, friends and family, or businesses in their local area, etc. We will provide each Team with a sponsorship package that can be printed out or emailed and used to help raise their funds.
Each team will have a Facebook group made for their team; by the 1000 Mile Challenge team. They will be encouraged to share their content to this page. Team names with their main title sponsor (if applicable) in their title will be the group name. We then share content created by the teams to the 1000 Mile Challenge group.
We also ask that Teams create a profile for their team, provide pictures and info about themselves or their experiences for public appeal and potential sponsors. This is for the kids and the goal of this event is to send kids to camp.
Applicants are asked to submit photos/videos of themselves or social links which can be shared on our social media platforms throughout the event. We ask that you include the following details about yourself with your registration:
·Name, location, what sled you ride, your longest trip, what inspired you to want to participate in the 1000 Mile Challenge, why you would like to be the “next 1000 Mile Man/Woman.” Any other information that you feel is relevant can be included; such as pictures of you with your sled, trip photos, etc. Videos / content can be sent to 1000mileteam@gmail.com. For videos larger than email accepts, it is suggested that you use a cloud service or the unlisted option on YouTube.

If you are causing issues with other riders, sponsors, organizers, etc. you will be asked to not participate in the event. Drunkenness, improper behavior, swearing, use of drugs, causing drama (online or offline), reckless driving, complaining, not getting enough attention, or for ANY reason deemed by the organizers, you will be removed from the event. There will be ZERO tolerance. This event is for sending children to camp, keep this in mind. The 1000 Mile Challenge does not guarantee any fame, sponsorships, and promotion to any participants. Your snowmobile, gear, and team members are your responsibility. Fuel, oil, parts, cameras, and tracking devices are all the responsibility of the riders and their team. If your machine breaks down before, during, or after the 1000 Mile Challenge, this is your responsibility. Preparations before the event are your responsibility. Your behavior is your responsibility. Do not lose focus of the goal of this event.
By choosing to be a part of the 1000 Mile Challenge, you are choosing to allow the 1000 Mile Challenge organizers to promote you, your personality, your equipment and your team. This includes successes and failures. We want to create an event that is real, entertaining, and truthful. If you are putting your third engine your sled 2 days before the event, this is great content! It will drive viewers, donors, and sponsors. We understand that it is embarrassing and you might not want to advertise things; however, from a viewer perspective and driving viewership, it is excellent. The more content and viewers, the more dollars to send children to camp.
Below is a form for riders to fill out. A $150 CAD fee applies to all riders that will be used towards the fundraiser and to confirm the seriousness of the applicant. Deadline is December 1st 2024 at midnight AST/11pm EST.
